The website widget

The widget is the small chat window that opens when someone clicks Robo's button. Visitors can talk without leaving your website.

How can we help?

A conversation starts with a question.

Your assistantExample

Hello! How can I help?

What services do you offer?

This is where visitors talk with your assistant.

Receive your installation code

Ask the Robo operator for the complete code. It already points to the right assistant.

Example code · adapt to your website

What that code looks like

This is only an example. The workspace name is made up. Paste the real code sent by your operator, with all its values unchanged.

html
<!-- EXAMPLE: ask your operator for your assistant's real code. -->
<script
  defer
  src="https://dev-robo.owarilabs.com/widget.js?v=v1"
  data-robo="your-workspace-slug"
  data-robo-version="v1"
  data-robo-locale="en"
  data-robo-host="https://dev-robo.owarilabs.com"
></script>

Paste the code into your website

The usual place is right before </body>, at the end of the page. A shared footer adds it to all pages at once.

HTML website

Paste the script before </body> in each page or in the shared layout file.

WordPress

Use the footer area of a custom-code plugin. Avoid a post's text editor: it may remove the script. Exclude widget.js from tools that combine or rewrite scripts.

Wix, Squarespace and other builders

Use the site-wide custom-code area, at the end of body. Choose code that runs on the main page. An HTML box inside a separate iframe puts the chat inside that box.

Publish and check

Open the published page over HTTPS. Click the button and check the assistant's name. Try it on a phone too: the chat uses the available screen space.
